AFAB Electronics was originally founded to provide sales and support for Apple's then-new Macintosh™ and it's earliest digital mapping software. Our first product combined hardware and software to create and catalog images as specialized fonts for use in industry and medicine.
Our second product, and our first consumer-oriented solution, enabled low-cost, non-Postscript™ laser printers to produce hi-resolution output via automatic, dynamic font conversion and download. FonTransfer™ debuted in 1986.
Beginning in 1987, AFAB expanded its interests to include consultation and support for a variety of Macintosh™ software and hardware projects, and included rudimentary animation and video capabilities as a proof-of-concept for several local start-up companies.
Throughout the 1990's, AFAB became active in the secondary computer marketplace, helping schools in Central America obtain Macintosh™ computers for their learning labs. We still maintain contact with graduates of these programs, who have themselves gone on to provide unique and varied solutions for agriculture, architecture and engineering.
At the turn of this century, AFAB has once again has sought out innovation by returning in some way to its roots. The demand for digital imaging and image capture has grown by leaps and bounds, much of it in areas of medicine and industry that were previously steeped in expensive analog technology. By providing low-cost solutions to these industries, we combine design and support to create new value from previously held high-value assets.
